Week 8

Day 51-Monday/Lundi (16/3/09)

Today is my brothers birthday, it was a little weird to think about him having his birthday all alone somewhere in Asia, his first birthday without the family, I guess it just shows how old us kids are getting. I woke up at an OK time but then ran late getting ready and had to quickly grab some bread as I was running out the door to catch the bus, which I got to in good time! At school we had to do our maths exam again because half the class had failed, me not being one of those people!! At lunch we had potatoes, man I love potatoes! In our big break we laid in the sun for an hour, it was so sunny and warm and nice and oh, just so good!!! All day I just wore my cardigan and a top, and obviously pants, but I didn’t need to wear my scarf or coat, it was warm enough not too!! We then went around to one of the girls in my class, Melanie’s house because it was close to school. We went there for a bit, it was pretty funny her and this other girl kept dancing and singing along to this youtube video thing! Melanie and the other girl Laurence are both dark skinned girls, there is a lot of dark skinned people in France, it’s like there’s a lot of Asians in Melbourne I guess. We then returned to school for our french class. … continue reading this entry.

Week 7

I am very sorry for the late update, the next couple of weeks will be up soon I promise!

Day 44-Monday/Lundi (9/3/09)

Did the usual morning things, ate breakfast, I’ve been eating Special K for breakfast every morning, which is good. I have got ton used to the bus, but it is always packed so most of the time I have to stand up, which can be hard sometimes, trying not to fall over when the bus turns corners. In school we had a test for maths, it was pretty hard, especially because I have only learnt half of the topic. French is really boring because I hardly understand what they are on about, they are studying an old French novel so the language is even harder. In English I am always asked to read aloud sentences so they can hear the pronunciation, quite funny. It’s very weird to see how they learn English, it is similar to the way we learn French but it is weird to see because what they learn just comes naturally to me but to them obviously it doesn’t. In our big break that we always have on a Monday we sometimes go to Antoine’s house, and today we did. He brought out a guitar and I thought “great I’ll play”  but it was ridiculously out of tune so I tried to tune it but it was so old that I accidentally broke one of the strings!! I kept apologising, I felt so bad for what I did, but Antoine said it didn’t matter. At home I watched TV, went on the computer, played the piano for a bit. Had dinner then played piano again, so goods!! Quickly replied to some emails then went to bed.

Week 6

Day 37- Monday/Lundi (2/3/09)

Today was the first day back to school so it was a tough morning, waking up at 6 just to get to bus on time. I got ready as usual and left the house at 7.25 just to make sure I didn’t miss the bus which comes at 7.41. It was my first time catching the bus in France by myself ever and it was the only bus to get me to school so I was rather nervous! It ended up only taking me about five minutes to walk there so I had a wait about 10 minutes but that was OK, I had my IPod to listen to. I got on the bus and off it went, I was so scared I had got on the wrong bus or got on the wrong direction because I couldn’t seem to recognize anything as it went along. I was getting ready to call Scarlett for help but I thought Id wait till the exact time the timetable said the bus should arrive at my stop. … continue reading this entry.

Week 5

After a week of skiing I had one week left of holidays so this was a chance to do some fun things!!

Day 30- Monday/Lundi (23/2/09)

This morning I was able to sleep-in but did not have a successful time! Dad had sent me a txt message at 5.45 in the morning, which I luckily didn’t wake up to (dad, watch the time difference remember!) but at about 7.30 my phone went off reminding me I had a txt message and that woke me up! Then at 8 o’clock the workers putting stone things on the outside walls came and literally put their radio right outside my window! Thanks to mum we had packed a pair of ear plugs, they were very good and helped me to sleep till 9.30. I got up and had some breakfast, then talked to my parents on Skype but now the sound wasn’t working and I couldn’t hear them and earlier the webcam had stopped working so they can’t see me, I was so angry!! I had a shower and whilst I was in the shower Nolwenn’s dad came to pick her up, because she was staying there for the week. When I got out of the shower, Marie and Papie (granddad) had turned up and I was asked if I would look after Marie for the day, I wasn’t doing anything so I said that was fine. We played the High School Musical board game which was kind of fun but Marie won, I think she cheated because I had gone to help Sylvie do some things down stairs and all of a sudden she was yelling “YAY YAY” and said she won! … continue reading this entry.

Week 4

Well I’ve finally been here for a month and what a month it has been, I have done so much in such a small time and learnt a whole lot more. Just think, if this is one month, what is life going to be like in three months time? Here is the week that ended the first month, a week at the snow, what a way to spend a week!

Week 3

This week was a good week the last week of school before 2 weeks holiday, but school was very relaxed and had activities and exams all week.

Day 16-Monday/Lundi

Woke up late I was able to sleep in because as I said school didn’t have normal school and I didn’t have to be at school till about 2. This was a good chance to get on the Internet and talk to people in Australia. I had heard about the fires in Victoria the night before on the news and was very worried because I had no idea what was going on, thankfully I got to talk to my family on skype and heard all about it, such a horrific time I felt so bad that I wasn’t there to help out in some way. … continue reading this entry.

Week 2 in France

I know, I know I’m late yet again, but I’m sure you were so full of information after the week 1 blog that you couldn’t read another thing!!  Don’t worry I don’t think week 2 was as jam packed full of things like week 1, but then again I could prove myself wrong, lets see… … continue reading this entry.

Week 1 in France

Bonjour, allo, bon soir, HELLO for what ever time of day you are reading this!

So I have now spent one week in France and as you may see by some of my comments people are waiting for an update of everything! I do apologise for the lateness of this blog as I did say I would blog every week on the sunday or before but I’v just been too busy and tired. First of all I’ll say that I am very happy and everything is going well.

I left you last time on my way to go to sleep on my very first day, last Sunday the 25th of January. I had a wonderful sleep till about 7 at night then my host mother Sylvie’s family came over for dinner. Her mother and father and her sister Scarlett who speaks english well and her husband along with their two girls Marie(7 years old) and Emma(8 months old). It was a little daughnting and scary trying to understand them while I was so tired but it was a fun night. Then I went to bed in Sylvies room downstairs because my room upstairs was getting wood put on the floors so I was told I was staying in Sylvies room for one week. … continue reading this entry.
